Glenn Close (born March 19, 1947 in Greenwich, Connecticut) is an American film and stage actress.

She was innate into the society personal & attended Choate Rosemary Hall, an elite boarding school within Connecticut, & a College of William and Mary, becoming a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society. Her agnate grandpthe, Edward Bennett Close, a stockbroker, was number 1 married to Post Cereals' inheritress Marjorie Merriweather Post, which makes Glenn Close a relative by marriage and/or blood to screenwriter/director Preston Sturges and actress Dina Merrill. She as well occurs as distant full cousin of Brooke Shields.

Close is remembered for her chilling roles when a scheming blue blood Madame de Merteuil inside Dangerous Liaisons and as a psychotic book editor Alex within Fatal Attraction. She has been nominated for Little phoebe Academy Awards, for Best Actress in Dangerous Liaisons and Fatal Attraction and for Best Supporting Actress in The Natural, The Big Chill and The World According to Garp.

In the 1990s, Close took in challenging roles on television too. She starred in the extremely rated presentation of the 1991 Hallmark Hall of Fame drama Sarah, Plain and Tall (& its ii sequels) and likewise in the processed-for-TV film Serving inside Silence: A Margarethe Cammermeyer Story (1995); from these roles she was nominated for Eighter Emmys (winning one) & Heptad Golden Globes.
